Thought of a few changes that should make the story kind of flow a bit more/add some gameplay.
- keep the wolf pet in (it's in our design document, and apparently we're meant to stick to it)
- you meet the wolf pet early on in the village (during a simple side quest)
- he follows you through village, dark village, forest, caves and lake, then returns during the final cavern/boss battle to help you. (Resident Evil 4 style).
- the animal that you save for the boy (well, kill with the boy) is just a dog, or cat or some random irrelevant shit.
- pavel's underground cave is moved to straight after you kill the boy (and it's a dark realm level)
- this opens up to the lake.
- the underwater level I've created, links on to the final area/s, which is a short (but enemy filled) ice level, and the final arena.
- the final two levels are neither dark realm or light, they're kind of the summation of the two (but that doesn't need to be visually seen)
- both wolves (light and dark) come in at the end to help you
This means that the forest, the cave, and the ice level all have enemies and will draw the game out longer.
None of this really alters any of the designers work, except possibly Pavel and Miya, but if you dislike, let me know, and we'll work out a different way.
