re-installing would probably help, but seeing as how you're on the uni comps that's not an option.
there's these 'invisible tiles' all over interior maps. maybe you deleted them and it crashed. try making a new area and starting over (lots of effort lost but better then nothing)
another option is to try another computer or another room.
