Small Update on Scripting

Posted by Posted by Team Rocket On 4:22 AM

Just letting you guys know (because I know you care so much), that I have a few basic scripts thrown together.

One of them applies the fx_steam effect to the player character. (As that seemed to be much easier to do than place it around the underwater level 50 hundred times.)

The other one simply makes the boy follow you around. Haven't checked it out with complicated walkmeshes, but hopefully it'll be okay. Considering adding some unique behaviour for the boy (like yelling out shit when he sees enemies, fleeing and hiding until you've killed them, etc), which should get us some marks in the whole "high level scripting" thing.

Any other ideas of behaviour the boy should show? The more I can add, the better. (though, I'll focus on the doing the rest of it first).

Also, @Pavel. How are the transitions going? :P Easiest way might be to apply an effect to the player (you can use the special effects editor in the toolset to move it around, copy it a few times, etc). Then just spawn them out (or go to a cutscene). Add sounds and shit, and it should work fine.
