So far, I've worked out how to do basic area transitions, and how to add quests and journal updates. So we're a little closer to getting to the end of this. Plus, I've done about 15 or so basic scripts (everything seems to need a fucking script).
I refuse to do conversations. But I'll happily script/link them up to triggers, etc. Someone has to quickly show me how they do conversations tomorrow.
Also, I tried out your baby rooms Shaun, and they freeze on execution for me. :| Pretty lame too, because I think I have the basic outline of the stabbing baby (which is a rock) done. Hopefully it's just my shit laptop. We'll see tomorrow.
So basically, I think the designers and digital artists should be in charge of:
- conversations
- area transition pictures (printscreens, really)
- fixing up the areas (placing NPCs and shit)
- cutscenes! <--- this is major one (perhaps we can avoid them all together if we have enough conversations.
Programmers will take care of:
1. Implementing the quests
2. Scripting all the shit that needs to be scripted. Obviously.
3. Area transitions (they take about 3 minutes each).
4. Anything left over (such as fixing up our own areas). Enemy spawning.
Anyway, see you guys tomorrow for some fun hours of working.
- Ian
